About Friends of Rye Scouting
Friends of Rye Scouting seeks to support scouting in Rye, NY and surrounding areas in three primary ways:
Supporting our local Scouting America units, Rye Cub Scout Pack 2 and Rye Boy Scout Troop 2 by providing:
The use of two box trailers to store and transport their camping gear
Need-based scholarships via the Hugh O’Reilly Memorial Scholarship Fund
Funding necessary infrastructure and equipment for the Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation and Agatha A. Durland Scout Reservation (both named after prominent Rye, NY residents/benefactors) of our Greater Hudson Valley Council with:
Donations from our annual “Two Guys” Invitational Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament
Serving as an “alumni association” for former Rye, NY scouts and adult leaders
