Friends of Rye Scouting seeks to support scouting in Rye, NY and surrounding areas in three primary ways:

• Supporting our local Scouting America units, Rye Cub Scout Pack 2 and Rye Boy Scout Troop 2 by providing:

  • The use of two box trailers to store and transport their camping gear

  • Need-based scholarships via the Hugh O’Reilly Memorial Scholarship Fund

• Funding necessary infrastructure and equipment for the Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation and Agatha A. Durland Scout Reservation (both named after prominent Rye, NY residents/benefactors) of our Greater Hudson Valley Council with:

  • Donations from our annual “Two Guys” Invitational Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament

• Serving as an “alumni association” for former Rye, NY scouts and adult leaders
